Field workforce platform
A multi-tenant workforce platform for smart-meter rollouts, from consumer indexing and installation to quality control, inventory and O&M.
Context
Smart-meter rollouts involve contractors, field crews, warehouses and several layers of quality checks, usually spread across spreadsheets and disconnected tools.
What I’m building
A multi-tenant SaaS covering consumer indexing, meter installation and replacement, multi-level quality control, warehouse and asset lifecycle, work orders and crews, O&M complaints, and project governance.
Engineering
- Web: Next.js App Router as both UI and API surface (Route Handlers), Tailwind v4.
- Worker: a separate Node + BullMQ process owns integration jobs, retries and scheduled reconciliation, so a slow downstream system can never exceed the API’s response-time budget.
- Data: Drizzle on PostgreSQL + PostGIS, with personal data separated from operational records from the first migration.
- Mobile: an offline-first Expo app for field technicians, supervisors and warehouse staff.
- Integration: talks to the ticketing platform over its REST API only, never a shared database.
